Night at the Museum
By Dr. Lin Zucconi
I DVR'd Night at the Museum, Ben Stiller's 2006 comedy and watched it last night. You can rent it on DVD if you can't find it on your satellite or cable provider. It is cute and funny and there are lots of cameo appearances by famous actors young and old. Stiller is on his own locked up as night guard Larry in the NY Museum of Natural History. Larry has a son from a previous marriage and is seen as a hopeless irresponsible dreamy headed guy. He knows he has to redeem his relationship with his son. Maybe this new job can help him.
Gone Baby Gone
By Dr. Lin Zucconi
Gone Baby Gone is very very good. You have to stay awake and alert to figure out all the twists and turns. Ben Affleck directs and his little brother Casey stars. A young couple who are detectives are hired by an abducted little girl's aunt to find the child. The police are also working hard but don't have connections into the working class druggy Catholic Boston neighborhood where the child's family lives.
Gone Baby Gone

This is a movie I missed on the big screen and with great luck, saw it on a big screen ( over a 100 in screen at my son's HD projection home theatre.) Not surprising that after all of the misses and poor scripts that Ben Affleck has been involved in that this movie, even after getting a lot of critical praise did, mediocre in the theatres.
Not being a well known Movie pundit or other celebrity, I purchased my pass to the film festival on line. All went well until I read that the pass was being moved from the Maui Arts and Cutural Center on the morning of the 11th to Wailea for pick up after 6pm. I have a screening at the MACC in the afternoon so I called and with no drama, they just made arragements to leave it there. Good Start !

Kung Fu Panda
I went to see this movie with only knowing that Jack Black was going to play a Panda Bear that learns or is a Kung Fu enthusiast and that Dustin Hoffman was a "voice" as well.
The Son of Rambow - fun film about kids from Britain
By Dr Lin Zucconi
There is a delightful little film from Britain about a couple of boys who decide to make a movie about the Son of Rambo. The film is set in the 1980's about the time of Stallone's first Rambo movie. One of the boys is a child from a fundamentalist Christian sect called "The Brethern" where no movies, no TV, no music and just about nothing else is allowed. This fatherless boy is very naive and innocently sweet.
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
By Dr. Lin Zucconi
Hi friends...
I saw the latest Indiana Jones movies today. Boy Harrison Ford has sure aged in the last 20 years....yes it has been that long! He runs around pretty well in this latest Jones adventure movie. He fights way too long and too often - I think that the amount of violence is up over the older Indiana Jones movies. This detracts from the film.
