Rocknrolla

You have to go back to 1999 Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels or 2000 for Snatch which has been to date still my favorite Guy Ritchie film to understand what is becoming a "classic" Guy Ritchie film.  Rocknrolla gets us there and some.

Fast pulpy Cockney crime story staring Tom Wilkerson as Lenny the F_ _ _ kin headmaster of the underworld in London, but Archie is his number two man played by Mark Strong also (starring in Body of Lies).  Gerald Butler as "One Two" a street hustler that is swindled by Lenny in the beginning of the movie, then turns the tables as he snatches 7 million Euros that was destined to be Lenny's form Uri the Russian Mobster , to bribe city officials so he could get his building permits.  There is chase scene where a couple Russian mobsters are chasing One Two with a relentlessness that is almost impossible that will have you rolling in the aisles.

The dialog never gets boring, and the wit is strictly British. Never pontificating and full of quirky characters.   good example is Lenny';s step son "Johnny Quid" who has died at least 3 times in the same year and come back to life every time as the rock in roll star.

Sex , drugs, Rock n Roll, gangsters, violence  and action.  Not a classic movie, certainly a "B " movie that is going to be a classic in it's own way almost like a British answer to Tarantino's Pulp Fiction.

I want the Album too!
